Macro Inventory for Confluence

Documentation · ENR Enterprises AS

Macro Inventory lists every macro used in a Confluence space, how many pages use each one, and which macros fall outside the standard Confluence set.

Getting started

  1. Install the app from the Atlassian Marketplace.
  2. In Confluence, open Apps in the main navigation and choose Macro Inventory.
  3. Pick a space from the dropdown and select Scan space.

The scan runs in batches and reports progress as it goes. Larger spaces take longer; a space of a few thousand pages typically completes in under a minute.

Reading the results

ColumnMeaning
MacroThe macro name as Confluence stores it.
SourceBuilt-in means the macro is part of the standard Confluence set. Not recognised means it is not.
PagesHow many pages in the space use that macro. A macro used several times on one page counts once.
ExamplesUp to five pages where the macro appears.

What “Not recognised” means

Confluence records the name of a macro but not which app supplies it. A macro marked “Not recognised” is one that isn’t part of the standard Confluence set, which usually means it comes from an installed app — and pages using it will stop rendering correctly if that app is removed.

Treat the list as a starting point for checking rather than a definitive verdict. If you believe a macro is standard Confluence and it is being reported as unrecognised, tell us and we will correct it.
